DUNEDIN NOTES.

[From Our Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, January 30. Mr Mark Cohen, who has been associated with the Dunedin "Star" for over forty-two years, was presented by the employees with a travelling case, a set of gold links and a gold-mounted fountain pen, all suitably inscribed, on the eve of his departure on a visit to England on a twelve months' leave of absence. The citizens of Dunedin will next week present Mr Cohen with a purse of sovereigns', in recognition of his conduct of the editorial columns of the "Star." Mr J. F. Kirby, Avho has been largely identified with patriotic and other movements of a kindred nature, and is about to visit England to ■ assist Mr James Mills at the Maritime Conference, has been presented by a number of leading citizens with a travelling bag. a walking stick and a Mosgiel travelling rug.
