LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD
STATUTORY MEETING.
The statutory annual meeting or tne Lyttelton Harbour Board was held this aiternoon; present— Messrs I< . \Vaymouth (chairman), A. ILaye, G. Laurenson, M.H.R., J. Lambie, R. Moore, J. Wolfe and G. Witty, M.H.R. The chairman's interim report stated that the balance-sheet for the past year, which had yet to be audited, showed a sound state of finance. The cash balance had increased by £7387 8s 5d since last year. The ordinary expenditure was less by £810 7s, and the expenditure on harbour works (£19,b71 15s sd) was £4233 more than was the case the previous year. The ordinary cacih receipts for the year exceeded those of 1905 by £3348 os*4d, but the actual revenue for the year could not be determined until all the outstanding receipts were brought to account, but it was certain they would largely exceed those. of the preceding year. The value of the imports for the Port or Lyttelton for the year 1906 amounted to £2,590,952, or an increase^ of £493,349 over last year's. The exports amounted to £2,837,953, or £378,912 in excess of last year's. The value of the exports for 1906 exceeded, that of the imports by £247,041. Full details would be laid before the Board at the adjourned meeting on February 8. He moved:— "That this meeting stand adjourned at Christchurch until Friday, February 8, at 2 p.m." The meeting was adjourned accordingly.
