He had had all the toes of the left foot amputated, and in a pocket was a letter from Christchurch . addressed ■" W. Marriot." Ko was about forty years of age. with brown, curly hair and moustache. The watchman states that he saw the man deliberately jump iuto the water. He was rescued by two sailors and taken to the hospital, where bo died. ;
