DOMAIN BOARD.
_♦ GAMES IN THE PARK. THE WEST END CJLUB. The Christchuroh Domain Board met this afternoon; present— Messrs H. P. Murray-Aynsloy (ohairman), T. H. Davey, M.H.R., G. Witty, M.H.R., H. G. Ell, M.H.R., W. H. Cooper, W. Dunlop, G. Scott, H, J. Beswiok, B. P. Manhire and C/ M. Gray. An apology was received for the absence of The chairman stated that Messrs Davey, Manhire and himself were waited upon by a deputation of bowlers, in regard to the Board granting a piece of land, but as lawn tennis players also wanted a piece of land, no steps were taken. Written applications were read from bowlers, lawn tennis players, and oroquet players for 8J acres of land in the Pflgrim's Corner. The chairman aaid n© understood that' the land asked for was a piece upon which the Engineers had held their O3JEEIpB. A deputation from .the West End Club of bowlers, tennis and croquet players waited on the Board. The deiratatjon consisted of Messrs W. Jaoques, Ross, W. Thomson, F. M. B. Fisher, M.H.R., W. Gow and J. T. Mr Jacques said that the area asked for previously would not be sufficient, and three acres and a half were now asked for. The piece asked for, he thought, was not in what was oaUed the Pilgrim's Oornwr, but it was bound\>y a plane avemue on the north, the Riccaarton Road on the south-west, and the line of Welhngtoniaß on the east. The promotera of tib© sports had concluded that that was the most suitable spot. _.
