MR MASSEY AT PAHIATUA.

[Per Pbess Association.] PAHIATUA, May 6. Mr Massey addressed a public meeting last night. He said he objected to"' the Premie*- travelling the colony electioneering at t,ho cost of the colony, and sending long reports of his speeches to certain papers at the expense of the colony. \ To Sir Harry Atkinson was due the credit for laying the foundation of the prosperity wnich the colony now enjoyß. On the land question he declared the popular opinion was in favour of phe freehold. With regard to prohibition, he stood by the present law, which gave the people the right to say whether there_ should be licenses or not. He received a hearty vote of thanks. /.
