WILLIAM COOPER.
[Peb Pbess Association.] GISBORNE, May 6. William Cooper,' sheep farmer, died to-day. He was pne of the oldest settlers in the district, a member of the /various local bodies and a great enthus'aist in the prospecting for petroleum, concerning wnich he expended a considerable amount of capital, and recently visited the United States.
