The "Standard's " correspondent states that the Moscow Municipality's vote of condolence eulogises the Grand Duchess Elizabeth's virtues, but does not affect to deplore her husband's death. / The " Novosti " declares that tEe assassination gives material proof that Russia is sick and badly in need of a speedy cure. The Odessa correspondent of the " Standard " ■ reports that among no class has there been any expression of sorrow for the murder of Grand Duke Sergius, or of reprobation of the assassin. The police with some difficulty prevented unseemly demonstrations of joy. The event has stimulated the agitation for reform and for the obliteration of the Grand Ducal influence.
