(Received August 30, 10 a.m.) BRISBANE, August 30. Some returns are still incomplete. Mr Airey declares that- the victory 7, Jhas iar exceeded anticipations. The Morgan — Labour coalition expected a majority of twenty, but ifc has come out; about thirty-eight, i Sir A. Rutledge, leader of tho Opposition, in an interview recognised thafc a sort of delirium had seized the people, but ib would pass away and a reaction would come. (Tlie Queensland general election resulted in an overwhelming victory for the Morgan — Labour coalition, which practically swept the polls. A good many returns ar© N incomplete, but only in one or two cases can they affecfc th© results. As/figures stand at present the Labour Party haa increased its strength from twenty-three to thirty-five, while th© Morganites have increased from thirteen to twenty-one, both cases representing a corresponding loss to the Opposition, which secured only fifteen seats.
