PREHISTORIC DENTISTS.

Herr Reiser, «a German dentist, whose

hobby is palreontology, has, from a study of a number of prehistoric skulls, come to somewhat remarkable conclusions. Unlike most observers, he holds that dental troubles were largely prevalent among our forebears of the stone and bronze ages, the incisors being in many cases worn away to the root. The " dining-room furniture " of primeval man (says a medical paper) was, in fact, in Herr Reiser's experience, as scanty and dilapidated as it is in his civilised descendant. He says he has found traces of filing on teeth which he examine;!, ' from which he infers that there were dentists in prehistoric times.
