CURIOUS STORIES TOLD IN TKE DIVORCE COURT. Among curious points disclosed in the j London Divorce Court recently wa.« the i fact that- in one ease the man cited as corespondent had been murdered since the suit was begun. Hie name was given as Arthur Robinson, of Leamington, but it appeared that he had passed as Charles Russell and afterwards as -Smith. On May 25 he was with a young woman when the 3 .-.tier's sweetheart caught him and killed him. 'The President ordered his name to be struck out of fche ease. Dr Joseph Green, formerly of Stockport, fell in love with a young woman wiio had been in his employ as domestic servant, but who had married Mr J. L. Jones, a joiner, in 19C0. The husiiaud protested, and was assured by his wife, who said thafc the doctor was a gentleman. In March, 1903, however, the wife and her former master went off to New Zealand, and the doctor now agreed to pay £320 to the betrayed husband, who was granted a decree nisi. Mr John Walter Aspinall Parr, an electrical engineer, is alleged to have practised a refined form of cruelty. He would show his wif?, ta whom he was married five years ago, photographs of other women with whom he said he was in love ; and he received telegrams from these women. He was also actively cruel and unfaithful, and Mrs Parr obtained tlie usual decree. While Sergeant Hinckley was away fighting in South Africa and SwnaJiland his wife passed as a single woman. '' She us.d to have visit era," said a witness, " who came to afternoon tea and stayed until four o'clock in the morning." One specially favoured guest was in the habit, of sending her kidneys evory day. Ec was employed at tbe meat- market. The sergeant wa s granted a decree.
