Mr de Hondfc, manager of one of the Amsterdam playhouses, is building a. floating theatre. He is arranging to bind two vessels together, each 300 ft in length, and capable of containing 2300 persons. His " theatre-boat ■' will, in addition, be provided with bars, foyers, dressing-rooins, and a luxurious restaurant. It is to be towed up the Rhine, casting anchor at no less thatt> 85 large or small towns en route, where performances of Italian opera* by an accomplished troupe of artists are to be given.
