Running round to the back Slow Tom was showing clear from Phaetontis. At the seven-furlong post Catherine Gordon and Phaetontis moved up lo Slow Tom. Rounding the top turn Catherine Gordon took the lead, and Roller made a strong run on the outside and joined her. Catherine Gordon had a length's advantage entering the straight, and. going on, won easily by two lengths. Slow Tom being a similar distance behind Roller. Time-^3min 25 l-ssec.
