Vehicular Traffic.—For riding their bicyoles on certain footpaths, Ernest Charles Bathurst and George Garrett were each fined 5s and oopts.^-John Tempi* was fined 5s and eos.tß for riding at night without- a light, and Henry Stevenson was fined a similar amount for .driving without lights. SxoNB-THROWiNG.^Two small boys were charged with having thrown! stones at a cottage situated at the corner of Cqlombo and Salisbury Streets. Evidence was given/ to show that the boys had been seen throwing stone® in the vicinity of the cottage, but the Bench considered that there was no direct evidence to oonnect the boys with the offence of breaking the cottage 'windows, and the case was dismissed. Prohibition Orders.—Two prohibition orders were granted against men to bib effective in Christohurch and surrounding districts for twelve months. Wandjjrikg Catti,k.—Murdo M'Rae" was fined 5s and. costs for allowing cattle to wander on public roads. Mr Cowlishaw appeared far the complainant, a ranger. Dismissed. —Daniel M'Cbrmick, for whom Mr Hunt appeared, was charged with haying used indeoent language- in a public place. The licensee of the Foresters' Hotel stated that the accused had used the language complained of in the bar of his hotel, but two witnesses called by the prosecution, said that they did not hear the accused use any bad language on the occa* sion in question.
