MusikeT's <sh c William Rufus, by Melton — Simenw, 9st 8 (By winning the St lyeg'er Rock Sand h*s added hia name to the list of winners of the " Triple Orown " — the Two Thousand Guineas, Derby ami St Leger. • He has now started in eleven races, of which, he has worn nine. His two failures consist of an, unlucky beating in tihe Mdiddlepaark Plate, in which he finished third to has stable companion Flotsam and i'h.9 Carbine colt Greattcrex, and an overwhelming defeat at the hands- of lAid Patrick and Sceptre in liha« year's Eojipse Stakes. Both Mead «nd William Rufus have good records, and 'some months ago the former was expected to run prominently in the St Leger.)
