' Lead— £ll 6s 3d per ton. At the tallow sales 1275 casks w«re offered and 945 casks were sold. Mutton — Fine 29s 9d> per cwt, medium 28s per cwt. Beef— Fine 31s per cwt, medium 27s 6d per cwt. The New Zealand Loan amd Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cable from its Loncton representar tive, daited September 9:— Wool.— ln our opinion a rise is likely to take place of about 5 per cent in medium and coarse crosa-ibred/ wools at the coming cales. Tallovr'.—Since last report mutton tallow has risen to the extent of 6d per cwt. (The last quotation for fine mutton tallow was 28s 9d' per o\vt.) . • '
