FISHERIES CONSERVATION. The Fisheries Conservation Act Amendment- Bill, introduced by the Colonial Secretaay, .provides that the ■Governor may make regulations prescribing for the "issue of a uniform license, availablei throughout New .Zealand, to fish for trout and; .percli at tine following rates : — Licenses for, men, £1 for tfh® whole season, 5s for one. Month 1 , or 2s 6d for one week ; licenses for women aaid boys attending school, or under tie age of "sixteen, 10s for< tie whole season, 3s for one month, or Is 6d for one week. The regulations may also*- provide for regulating the export of trout, and preventing the pollution of streams in which trout and salmon exist or "have been liiberated'. THE VACANT JUDGESHIP.
