THE STAGE IRISHMAN.

A revolt has taken place, in America against the stage Irishman. Two variety actors who insisted upon doing the common stage caricature of the Irishman were hissed from the stage (says the New York "Sun") by indignant members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, in the Jacques Opera House, Waterbury, Conn. They were not permitted to come on again, as they desired to make an explanation to the audience. The outbreak was the result of aii agitation started by a convention of Irish Societies in Chicago recently against allowing the Irishman to be burlesqued in the manner he has been. Resolutions were adopted 1 , calling upon Irishmen in all parts of the country to discourage in every way degrading burlesques of the Irishman.
