(Received Sept. 16, 9.12 a.m.) LONDON, Sept, 15. | The Australians commenced the last match of their tour at Kensington Oval against a team of Players. The teami was the same as the last Players' eleven, excepting that Vdne replaced Lockwood. Tha Australians omitted Howtell, garter andi Jones. The weather was dull, but the\ wicket was easy, and of an excellent pace. The Players won the toss, and' Abel and Hayward opened their innings, Trum'blei and Saunders bowling. When the score was 20, Hayward gave Trumble a sharp chance off -his own bowling, which was not taken. Despite frequent changes in the bowling, the score mounted steadily. With the total at 70, Abel's score was 28 and Hayward's 41. Eleven runs later AbeH was caught by Hill' in the slips. He was eighty-five minutes at the wickets, and gave an admirable" display — one wicket for 81. At the luncheon adjournment the score waa 104 (Hayward 56, Tyldesley 12). On resuming both batsmen played vigorously. The century knd 1 a half soon appeared. With 74 to his credit, Hayward was stumped! by Kelly. He was two hours and threequarters at the wickets, and made seve__ fours— two wickets for 166. Tyldesley, who played brilliant oricket, had made 54. He added a couple, and was bowled by Saunders — three wickets for 175.
