THE VOLUNTEERS.
* The Linwood Rifles held a progressive euchre match on Tuesday, when there was a large attendance of non-commissioned officers and men. After a very interesting game, the match was won by Private Boyd Mitchell, with Bugler Taylor second. It is the intention of the. corps to hold a series of " social" evenings during the winter, and to some of them the members' lady friends will be invited. A committee has been formed to make the necessary arrangements. It consists of Privates H. Lomax (chairman), E. Lindsay, Muir, Treleaven and J. D. Eraser. __________
