MISS AMY CASTLES.

RECEPTION IN DUNEDIN. FFbom Our Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, May 1. Miss Amy Castles had a most flattering' reception in Diinedm last night, there being a great crowd at. the railway station, and! also at the principal stations along the line. At the Grand Hotel she was serenaded by the Dunedin Leidertafel. I had a chat with her, and in the course of her remarks she said die was delighted with the receptions on her journey from the Bluff, and with what sh© had seen of New Zealand. She looked forward to a pleasant tour of the. colony, and regretted she had not tfiore time in which to see the country.. Questioned as to whether she was a dramatic soprano, she replied frankly: "I do not know what I am. Critics differ verymuch, but I sin® five or six different styles and feel at home in all. "My home-coming was delightful to me. The receptions in. Australia were magnificent, and I feel heartily grateful. I have heard much of Christchurch, and look forward -with pleasure to seeing it." Misg Castles had no regret at foregoing the honour of singing at the Coronation 1 in the light of her warm-hearted welcome to the colonies, and she looks forward to her nextvisit. She feels in excellent spirits, and finds the climate here bracing, though cold.
