Colonel Davies having refused the command of the Eighth Contingent, the question of a commander will be dealt with on the Premier's arrival in Wellington morrowThe Surrey, with the North, Island Contingent, will leaive Wellington about Jan. 22 [Per Press Association.] STRATFORD, Jan. 6. Runciman, Woods, Maxwell and Finnamore, the Stratford detachment of the Eighth Contingent, left for Wellington this morning." Woods, Runciman and Finnamore are members of the Stratford Mounted Rifles. . •
