A Blue Book hai been issued containing Lieutenant-general Sir Henry Colviße's despatch describing the unsuccessful attack upon Cronje's laager at Paardeberg on Feb. 18. The despatch, which was discovered in a pigeon-hole in the War Office, says: — "Lord Kitchener directed me to send Major-General Smitfo-Dorrien "and all fche available fresh troops to make a determined assault on the laager, and to send Colonel Aldworth across the drift, the Canadians and Highlanders co-operating. He delivered his attack with extraordinary courage and determination. I regret that it resulted in the death of CcOonel Aldworth and the loss of a considerable number of officers and men."
