BOROUGH COUNCILS.
A special meeting of the New Brighton Borough Council was held on Tuesday evening, to consider a, resolution to ire^adjust the' existing loan . under .th© . Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1899 ; present — the Mayor (Mr C. H. Winny), and Councillors M'intyre, Rowe, Edwards, Owtes and Wyatt. Leave of absence was granted to Councillor Grlanville. On the motion of Councillor M'lntyre, seconded by Oonnci-llor Edwards, the resolution was unanimously carried. The effect of the • ne-adjustment will be to enable th© borough to save .tlhe sum of £61 per annum in interest under the loan. It was resolved to hold a special meeting on July 24, to confirm the resolution and give the necessary notices in accordance with the Act. -,
