TUESDAY'S WEATHER-. From Observations Taexn* at 9 a.m. Fresh north-west and south-west winds were prevalent in many parts of the country. They were accompanied by squalls at Auckland and rain, at Egmont, Wanganui, Wellington, Cape Campball and on the West Coast of the South Island. The highest reading of the barometer was 30.13 at Cape Maria van, Diemen, and it-he lowest 29.62 at Balclutha. The thermometer ranged from 60 at Cape Maria van Diemen. and Auckland to 40 at the Bealey. The barometer at Ghristchurch was falhng.
