Schneider, the Austrian Military Attache at Paris, who figured at the Dreyfus trial, has been recalled. PARIS, Sept. 18. ■ The Pope's encyclical letter to the French clergy, makes only the vaguest allusion to ■the Dreyfus case. Theomisßion is said to be due to the influence of Cardinal Rampolla, Secretary of State to the Pope. The prospect of .millions of foreigners not visiting the Paris Exhibition is greatly helping the Dreyfus cause. LONDON, Sept. 18. Ninety British firms will boycott the Paris Exhibition. - ' A Dreyfusard demonstration- took place at Hyde Park. It is estimated that 80,000 persons were present. The crowd was ad-/ drcissed from eight platforms, but the speakers were unimportant personages. An appeal for the prisoner's release was enthusiastically carried. Archbishop Vaughan, in a letter to the "Times," says that it its unfair to identify the Roman Catholic Ohurph with injustice in connection -with thc/Rsnoies trial. It "was also monstrous that foreigners should denounce the whole French cation.
