ADDINGTON YARDS.

♦ THIS DAY. [Peb the " Stab's " Pigeon Express.] Entries in all classes of stock were bakw the average, and the wet weather, besides militating against the attendance, left the yards, especially the unpaved ones, in a filthy condition, and the sheep suffered considerably in appearance. The 159 head of cattle which formed the beef supply included a very nice line of Herefords from the executors of the late W. Gerard, of Snowdon. Per 1001 b good to prime beef made '16s to 17s 6d, medium 14s to 15s 6d, and cow and inferior down to 11s 6d. The only line of store 'cattle was 120 head of three and four-year-old heifers and steers from the Pelorus Sound, but _the prices offered at auction were not sufficient to lead to business. The dairies were a mixed lot, and met a very poor demand. The yarding of store sheep is a fairly large and mixed one, and the market has opened at about, rates ruling last week. Fat hoggets were a small entry, the bulk being evidently culls Prices* were decidedly easier, and freezing quality brought from 13s 6d to 15s, others selling down to 10s. The yarding of store sheep was made up mostly of small lines, and a good many were turned out unsold.
