ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
«, [Peb Press Association.} V 4 „.' . PUNEDIN> August 2. Alexander Livingston, a ■ well-known stationer, has died suddenly. WELLINGTON, August 2. An inquest on Mrs Watson was held this morning. The Hon J. E. Jenkinson, M.L.C., who saw the whole circumstances of the accident, stated that Mrs Watson and: .another lady had nearly reached the footpath at the comer when they hesitated, and then ran back. Mrs Watson appeared to trip on her skirt and staggered, which delayed her so that thepole struck her, knocking her down. The 'bus was not travelling at a dangerous speed; in fact, the speed was very little quicker than a walking pace, He said emphatically that the accident was not, the driver's fault, and could , not* have been avoided by any driver under the circumstances. The iadies were., to blame themselves for turning back. After tlie medical, evidence had been given the inquest was adjourned till Friday.
