SHOT IN CHURCH.

A strange shooting fatality happened 1 recently in; a Congregational * Church at; Pietermantzburg, Natal, while the parishioners were at prayers. About twentyminutes past ten, what appears to have been a stray bullet from a Lee-Metford sporting rifle penetrated one. of the church windows and lodged in the heart of a Cape -man. who was on his knees praying at the other sideof the church. The man threw up his arms and immediately expired. The officiatingclergyman at once brought the service to a termination. Nobody appeared to have been' practising at the rifle butts in close proximity to the church, and it is supposed that thebullet was one from some sportsman shooting, buck on the adjoining lulls.
