. » ■ . In the Legislative Council' yesterday, the Water. Suipply Act Amendment Bill passed its final stages, ,and the "Bankruptcy Act Amendment. Bill (Mr Lee-Smith) was partly considered in committee. Several Bills passed their first stages in the House of Representatives. The report of the Police Commission was brought up for, discussion. The Minister of Defence moved that the report should he referred to the Public, Accounts Committee to inquire as to whether, the circumstances warranted incurring 'the increased expenditure ;th?it. wpuld.be entailed bygiying effect to the recommendations of the Com- ! mission. Mr J. WV Kelly moved an amendment declaring,' in substance, that the re- -j commendations should bp given effect to ; forthwith. Shortly after midnight the debate was adjourned.
