Another record was put up at Westport a few j days ago. The Union Company's Rotokino, ■with 2130 tons coal aboard (which is not a record cargo) was drawing 19ft aft and 18ft forward when she sailed for Auckland. She is the deepest draught vessel that has worked the West Coast port The depth of water in the river was 20ft 7in. Recently it was stated in the cablegrams that the steamer Express, of Sydney, had been sold for trawling work in New Zealand, and it is now stated that the little vessel is to be stationed in Auckland. The Express was under offer some time ago to the owners of the steamer Waipara. She is a powerful little vessel; but «ould not carry enough for the West Coast coastal trade requirements. The steamer Rangatira will arrive in port tomorrow from Dunedin. The barquentine Cuthona was towed into the stream on Saturday. She is bound for Kaipara, where she loads timber for Melbourne. .
