PIGEON FLYING.

The Christchnrch Pigeon Flying Club flew off a race from Invercargill on Saturday. Fourteen birds competed under most unfavourable circumstances, a strong •nor'-wester blowing the whole time. The winner was Mr Earushaw's Ballyhooley, who flew the distance cf 366 miles ( JS6 yards in 9hr Guiin, making a velocity of 1179 yards per raiauie. This beats the previous record by 59 minutes.
