Coolgardie, with its population of aboixt 10,000 people, is only three years old ; and Kalgoorlie, in little more than a year, has grown from a mere camp into the most flourishing town on the fields, with a population of about 4000 people— a population increasing so rapidly that at the present rate it will only require a year or two to muster 20,000 inhabitants.
