♦ DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 17. After the House "rose this morning a deputation of members, headed by Mr Malls, waited on Mr Seddon and presented him with a petition signed by forty-nine members of the Lower House and nineteen of the Upper, praying that the Government should recommend the Governor to release the convict Chemis.
