[Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Oct. 16. The boy Carpenter, who was shot on Wednesday, died this morning. His recovery was hopeless from the beginning. •Mr Guy Tabart met with a very painful accident while engaged in crickeb practice at Lancaster Park on Wednesday evening. He was bowling at one of the practice wickets, and was in the act of fielding a ball returned to him when he was struck on the cheek bone by a ball hit from another wicket. His cheek was severely lacerated, several of his teeth were loosened and the eye on that side was completely closed. It will be some days before he is able to return to business.
