[Per Press Association. | HOKITIKA, June 4. A public meeting, convened by the Mayor, for the-.purpose of considering a circular from the Women's Social and Political League, Wellington, with reference to the proposed presentation of an illuminated address and album by tile Liberals of New Zealand to the Premier oh the occasion of his fifty-first birthday, and also with the object of passing a resolution befitting the occasion, was held to-night. The attendance was not large. The follow? ing resolution was declared carried unanimously — " That this public meeting of the people of the Westland electorate join heartily, with the people of New Zealand in testifying, on the occasion of the.HonMr Seddon attaining his fifty-first birthday, to the esteem with, which he is held by us, both as our representative and as a statesman, and take the opportunity of wishing him many happy returns of the day, and that the Hon Mr Seddon and Mrs Seddon may enjoy long life, happiness and prosperity." It is understood that the Ziman Company will probably acquire the Ross United and Mont dOr Companies' pi'operties at Boss. , j
