News has come to hand by the Wakatipu that Mr John Paterson, who was an engineer of the s.s. Hesketh, died the other day in Sydney, from Bright*B disease. Mr Paterson was well known in New Zealand, and resided at Lyttelton for some time. He was. very popular; and general regret will be felt at his death.
