TPek Press Association. ! NEW PLYMOUTH, June 4. In connection with the dummyism charges, an apology has been published in the local papers by C. H. M'Cutchan to John Elliot, for having made a defamatory statement affecting the latter's honesty and good faith, and for statements contained in a letter to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland, which led to Elliott having the expense and annoyance of two enquiries before the Land Board. DUNEDIN, June 4. Mi* Allen, the Mayor of Port Chalmers, has announced that he will be a Ministerial andidate foi ■ Waikouaiti.
