GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
There is little alteration to note in the position occupied by the principal cereals. Wheat continues in good request, and some fairly large parcels were placed yesterday both to manufacturers and for export. Oats move off steadily at quotations, but principally for local consumption, as the recent advances impede export business. Oatsheaf chaff of prime quality may be considered dearer, although quotations are at the moment unaltered. The export of ' potatoes, which haa been checked through ; outlets being blocked, shows signs of being , resumed this week. The following are current prices : — Wheat. — Pearl (prime milling), 3s 5d ; millers' mixed lines, 3s 4dto 3s 5d • Tuscan, 3s 4.U1; Hunter's, 3s 3d to 3s4id; good seconds, 2s 9d to 2s lOd. Oats. — Prime milling 2s 3d to 23 4d ; good seed Tartars 2s 3d j short feed to 2s 3d ; Duns and Danish 2s 2d. Barley. — Malting, prime, 3s 6d to 3s 9d (nominal) ; medium do, 3s to 3s 3d* second quality 2s 6d to 2s 9d, feed 2s 3d. Beans. — Well-saved 2s 4d ; ticks, 2s 4d to 2s 6d. Peas.— Blue Prussians, 3s 6d to 3s 9dj others, 3s. .-•■•■ Floor. — Millers quote roller .£lO, stone £9 10s, sharps £4, bran .£3 10s. Oatmeal .£ll. Oatsheap Chape. — 50s at handy country stations. Onions. — £6 10s at country stations. Potatoes. — Derwents 32s 6d to 35s at country stations. Grass Seed. — Ryegrass, farmers' lots, 2s 3d to 2s 9d; machine-dressed to 3s 9d, heavy-weight 4s. Cocksfoot 2fd to 3^d, town machine-dressed 4d to 4 Jd. extra to 4§d. Cowgrass 4d to 5Jd. White clover 4d to 7-Jd. Alsike 4d to SM. Dairy Produce. — Cheese 3Jd to 4d, loaf 4d to 4sd. Butter — Factory ls, dairy 9d to lOd, salt 7d to Bd. Bacon and hams sid. Colonial Hops. — Brewers' sorts 8d to 9Jd at Nelson. The above prices aye paid to farmers j f.o.b. Lyttelton, except where otherwise stated.
