CHARITABLE AID IN DUNEDIN.
At a meeting of the Dunedin Benevolent Trustees, it was reported that, as compared with May last year, there is an increase im • the number receiving relief of twenty men,, twenty-four women and' thirty children.. It was decided to apply to the Supreme Court for a mandanms calling on the Charitable Aid Board to pay the amount requisitioned for by the Benevolent. Trustees. Coiinsel's opinion oa the point was that the Charitable Aid Board, if it thought the amount excessive, should have appealed to the Colonial Secretary.
