■ •• • ■. ■• [Pbb Pbess Association.! WELLINGTON, Junb 12. A fire broke out about 2 a.m. in a building at the rear of Orespin's grocery store, Lambton Quay. Tbe fire was soon got under control, but the contents of the building were greatly damaged, chiefly by water, and also the contents in the shop of Oakleigh, tailor, and Cordoga, fruiterer. Two doors away was a small jewellery shop, occupied by T r C. Woodford. He was told of tbe fire, and arrived on the scene in such a utate of agitation that about four o'olock he died of heart disease. The unfortunate man was taken to a neighbouring hotel, and two doctors were called in, but Without avail. Crespin'e building and stock are insured for .£llsO in the Commercial Union and Norwich Union Offices, the major portion being reinsured.
