Labcbny.— Thomas Kennedy, aged fifteen years, on remand, was charged with having, on or about June 2, at Kaiapoi Island, stolen a Bad die and bridle value £2 ss, the property of Thomas Barges?. The boy, for whom Mr Donnelly appeared, had pleaded guilty to the charge on Monday last, and sentence was deferred pending the report of the Probation Officer. The report waa satisfactory, and the Bench convicted the boy and ordered him to come up for sentence when called upon.

Labcent of a Jacket. — Margaret Ellison alias M'Keszie pleaded guilty to a charge of having on or about June 9, at Cathedral Square, stolen a jacket value 30s, the property of Charles Champness. The accuaed, who had twelve convictions recorded against her for larceny, vagrancy and other offences, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour. Drunkenness.— William M'ConneU was charged with being drunk while in charge of two horses on the Riccarton Bond on May 20. Mr M'Connel appeared for accused who, after evidence had been heard, was fined 20a and costs.
Misokllansous. — Arthnr Wiggins for riding a bicycle in Chancery Lane was fined Is and costs 7s. — Arthur Charles Rose, for furiously riding a horse aloDg High Street on June 4, was fined 40a and costs 7s. — George Irvine and Frederick Hamilton, two boys, were charged with having, on June 2, trespassed with dog and gun on the land of John Miln at Halswell. The boys admitted the charge, and were' each fined 5a and costß. — Henry Jordan, for keeping an unregistered dog, was fined 5s and costs 7h. — T. M. Lonargan, for keeping two unregistered doga waa fined 10a and costs 7s. -
, Maintenance Casks.— John Bait was ordered to pay 10a a week towards the support of his son,' George Bait.— Frank O'Kane was charged with being in arrears to the extent of £139 16s 6d on an order to pay 7s Cd a week towards the support of his illegitimate child. Mr Donnelly appeared for the complainant, and Mr Byrne for defendant. The order was made nine years ago, but no effort had been made by the complainant to press for payment of the arrears. The defendant was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, this order to be suspended so long as he paid 63 a week to the complainant. — Matilda Hartley applied to have an order made by the Court compelling her husband, John Moorhouse Hartley, to pay 5s a week towards the support of his two children increased to 7s 6d a week for each child. The defendant did not appear, and the application was granted.
