Hunting.
The most popular meet on the programme of the Brackenfield Hunt Club came off on Snturday, the rendezvous beiog Mr T. H. Evans's estate, Nanburnholme, Balcairn. About sixty on. horseback followed the hounds, among them being several ladies. Beveral capital runs were obtained, accompanied by a few spills, none of which were Herious. Owing to the dryness of the ground the scent was followed with difficulty, and though bares were plentiful no kill was effected. An adjournment was made to Mr Evans's for lunch, after which a move was made in the direction of Mr Starky's property, but though eeveral good runs ensued the hares managed to escape. In the evening Mr and Mrs Evans gave a ball, at which there was a large company present. ' The Tinwald harrierß met at Bromore railway station on Friday. The day was very favourable ior hunting, and those taking part had a most enjoyable day. Messrs Wilson and Quiglej's country, over which the hounds hunted, is noted for its hares, and on Friday tbeeewell maintained iheir reputation by giving the hounds and horsemen a really good run or two before they were killed. Soent waa remarkably good during the early part of the day, and the hounds ran with great daßh. They are evidently rapidly getting into the beßt of condition.
