The following acceptances have lieen received for the undermentioned events of the second day's racing :— Fright and Goala have been scratched for the Great Northern Steeplechase. [from our own correspondent.] Hickey got a severe shaking when Ebor fell with him, but it will not prevent him from riding Norton on Monday. Coala, who was never dangerous, pulled up lame, and is a doubtful starter on Monday. It is expected that there will be a field of ten for the Great Northern Steeplechase; and the following are the horoeß engaged, with their probable riders:— Norton 12at 101 b (J. Hickey), Liberator llbt 12ib (F. tlolmee), Bombaidier lOat 61b (D. Morrigan), Aorere lOat 31b (M. M'Kinnon), Belle lOst 51b (F. Lind), Union Jack lOat lib (Johnson), Fishmonger 9st 101 b (8. Fergus), Scaltheen 9at 81b (J. Pennell), Deceiver 93t 81b (R. Henwood), Nero 9at 7ib (E. Wright). The parties connected with Bombardier are very sanguine of their horse being able to win for the second year, but I incline to the opinion that Norton and Liberator will both bo found in front of the Brigadier gelding. Both the latter are in great form, and it should be a good rac9 between them.

Nominationu for the Dunedin Stakes, to be decided at the Dunedin Jockey Club's Spring Meeting, and for the Dunedin Champagne Stakes, to be run at the came club's Autumn Meeting, close to-day.
