The imports during May showed an in crease of J6618.000, and the exports an increase of .£861,000.
Kauri gum is in fair demand. Better grades are steady and lower qualities 2s cheaper; 3190 cases were offered and .1580 sold. Three-quarter scraped realised 823, half scraped 48*. There are still 1974 cases in stock.
Tallow medium, mutton 22s 6d, beef 2ls.
Wheat" {English strong. Continental shows a , eral decline, and American is advancin &An Adelaide cargo, ex Glenbank, sol * t 27s 3d.
The P ' Victor, from Sydney, lost seventeen cattle, including five which were specially dieted. The remainder arrived in good condition, but they will all have to be killed at Deptford, owing to the steamer calling at Malta.
