DUNEDIN, June 7.

Captain Allman, nautical adviser to the Government, haa bean engaged in making arrangements for holding nautical examinations at Port Chalmers. Captain J. Gray has been appointed the examining officer for the portß of Otago.

The winter Bhow was brought to a close to-night, when there was a large attendance, and it Was understood thafc the Agricultural and Pastoral Association will have a substantial surplus. The challenge shields for the best- managed fiira-s and the M'Nairn and Nimmo and Blair cups for cheese and butter were presented to the winners.
