UNEMPLOYED PRINTERS.
At a special meeting of the Board of the Canterbury Typographical Association, held to-day, a letter from the Wellington Association, giving details of a scheme for the employment of seosionHl hands in the Government Printing Office waa under consideration, and met with the unanimous approval of the local Board. The scheme, which waa recently submitted to the Hon Sir P. A. Buckley, the Minister in charge of the printing office, providsa for tbe abolition of overtime and the substitution of a night-staff. It is calculated that, by tho adoption of thia arrangement, the bulk of the unemployed printers in the colony will be absorbed. The local secretary was in.trueted to write to the Hon Sir P. A. Buckley in support of the scheme.
