LITTLE RIVER.
An ordinary meeting waa held on June 3 ; present— Messrs Buchanan (Chairman), H. White, W. H. Montgomery and J. C. C. Gebbie. It was resolved that the Chairman, Mr White and the Clerk should be appointed to inspect the work of clearing river obstructions and report to the next meeting of the Board. The General Manager of the New Zealand Bailways wrote. offering to insert a level crossing on tbe railway line if the Board would pay half tho coat. It waß resolved that the Minister of Bailways should be communicated, with on the subject. Mr Montgomery applied for leave of absence from the Board meetings during the ensuing session of Parliament. The application waa granted. Mr Tait waited on the Board, asking that a road should be made leading to his land, near Gebbie's Pass. It was agreed that a sum of J612 should be allowed, the road to be formed subject to the Clerk's supervision. Nine tendera were received for Beed's Point Boad formation, ranging from 5a to 8a per chain, aud the tender of Mr John Wardell, Duvauohellea Bay, waa accepted. Mr John Breslin asked that a road might be made to connect with his land at Little Biver. It was resolved that the road should be formed provided the applicant paid half the cost. It was resolved to invite tenders to form about ten chaina of road leading to Mr Barclay's land in Okute Valley. After passing accounts for payment, the meeting closed.
