This morning argument was to have been resumed in the case on appeal against the I decision of the Registrar, at Gisborne, in adjudicating Wi Pere a bankrupt, hut an ! arrangement was arrived at by counsel by which the matter stands adjourned till Wednesday. [from our special correspondent.] WELLINGTON, June 1. Another example of the growing importance of Wellington is the apparent fact that Messrs Whittaker and Russell, a prominent law firm at Auckland, intend opening a branch oifice here. Mr Buddie is to represent the firm. ■
