FOOTBALL.

The third annual meetingof the Southern Football Club was held on Friday evening, at St Michaal's schoolroom. Mr G. J. C. Smart occupied the chair. The election of officers resulted as follows :•— President, Mr G. J. C. Smart; vice-prfsidents, Messrs T. G. M'Galhn, W. MD. West, A. Young and E. Perkins; secretary, Mr George Perkins ; treasurer, Mr R. Mitchell; club captain, Mr N. Fraser ; general committee, Meaßrs M'Kendry, Allwright, Fraser, M'Gill and Voycfi; selection committee, Messrs Fraser, M'Kendry and M'Gill. The Teporb read showed tho club to be in a very satisfactory condition. Votes of thanks to tha ve'.iviny officers were passed. Thirtytwo new members wera elected. The annual meeting of the Kaiapoi Football Club was held on Saturday evening. The president, Mr G. H. Blackwell, occupied the chair. The report was considered very satisfactory. The reaeipts had been £137 Gs 2*d, nnd the expeuditure £108 18s Id. It was resolved to send a letter of condolence to the relatives of the late Mr A. T. Fisher, who had been secretary of the club. The election of officera resulted as follows:— -President, Mr G. H. Blackwell; vice-presidents, Messrs K. J. Alexander, J. Simpson and T. Millar; captain, Mr W. Baloh ; vics-captain, Mr L. Oram ; hon secretary and treasurer, Mr T. H. Caverhill, with Mr B. Roll as assistant; managing committee, Messrs Higgins, Forest, Lynskey, M'Gregor and Boll; selection committee, Messrs Higgins, Caverhill and P. Lynskey; delegates to Eagby Union, Messrs Balch, Higgins, Oram and Lynskey. Twenty-two new members and one honorary member were elected, and Mo33ra Fantham and T. Drabble were made life members in recognition of past services. The question of a ground was left in the hands of Messrs Blackwell and Caverhill. It was resolved to open the season on March 16.
