Auoixand, Feb. 23. Captam J. SteiD, of the Northern Company^a Btoain?r Chelmeford, reported to the Collector or Customs that the principal light-keeper at Cuvier Island had informed him that there were several large kauri logs drifting round the island. Half a dpten had been stranded on thaieland.but there atill were several drifting about. As the logs are in the track of ve3selß coming along the coaat, misters should keep a bright look out, in order to avoid collfflioa with them. ■•••;.
